About Us

In the fall of 1983, Elmer Spring Jr. and his wife Barbara purchased 16 acres from Mr. & Mrs. James Jackson at 1925 Innisfil Beach Road, in the small town of Stroud. It is here that Elmer began to build on his dream of having his own tree farm and landscaping business. In June 1984 several hundred spruce seedlings were planted, which was the start of what is now known as Spring Tree Farm.

Elmer continued to work nights for Loblaws until 1991 when the business demanded more of his time. Family owned and operated, Barbara has been by his side since the beginning, managing the garden centre and the office. In 1988 Elmer's younger brother Paul joined the business as a partner. The following year Spring Tree Farm became a Corporation.

As the Company grew there was a need for expansion. The current building was renovated, allowing for additional office space, a store and larger shop for maintaining their equipment and vehicles.

The dream Elmer had has become reality and his family business has flourished. Along the way Elmer's sister Patty, his nephew Adam and daughter Christina have all become part of Spring Tree Farm. They also have up to fifteen additional very dedicated seasonal employees.

While driving around the neighbourhood you may see rows and rows of their trees on leased property from the Eisses, Diaczenko's, and at Raven's, which is 4th generation farm land. Property was purchased on Highway 27 near Cookstown, and 49 acres from Tom Farr at 2475 Innisfil Beach Road better known as the current retail location.

The Spring family has been farming in Innisfil since 1845. Today's generation of farming is more modern that of their forefathers. As Innisfil and surrounding area continues to grow, so must we to accommodate the urban development.

In 2003 and 2009 Spring Tree Farm Corp. was awarded Innisfil's Business of the Year, in recognition of their outstanding contribution and generosity towards community involvement.

In 2010 Spring Tree Farm Corp. was nominated for,  and won  the Green Business Award and the Community Award, presented by the Greater Innisfil Chamber of Commerce.
